6/4/2012 – I am looking for a product called "Cure Golden Brown Sugar" that I previously purchased from Hamm's Butcher Supply, 14205 N.E. Hwy. 65, Anoka, MN. I am under the impression that Hamm's Butcher Supply is ready to close their doors for good - and no longer carry this product. The label contents is 1.50 lbs. And it reads as follows: CONTAINS: Salt, Brown Sugar, Sugar, Sodium Nitrite (0.7%), Maple Sugar, Less than 2% Propyl Glycol). I would like to find the identical product. I am willing to purchase in larger quantities. I use this product to cure and smoke salmon. How does your product compare to this? What size does it come in??
Response From Southern Indiana Butcher Supply: Golden Brown Sugar Cure containis .7% sodium nitrite but does not contain maple sugar. We do have a Maple Sugar Cure available with a similar ingredient statement. http://store.butchersupply.net/maple-sugar-cure-20-pound-bulk-p502.aspx
